Example Email Tarot Reading:
From P: My name is P(full name not revealed for privacy reasons). I am aged 42 (March 14h 1977). I have met a new man in my life, but am unsure where the romance will go. Many times in the past I have got involved with the ‘wrong one’ who has let me down and treated me badly. Can you give me a tarot reading please? Also I have these specific questions: Will this romance succeed for the long term? If this romance fails, in what way is it likely to fail? What actions can I take to ensure the romance has more chance of success?
Dear P, Thank-you for requesting an Email Tarot reading from Veil of Psychic Tarots. It is a pleasure to be able to read for you! You have requested a Tarot reading in regards to your love life. You indicate that you need some guidance and direction at this time about the new man that has entered your life. I concentrated carefully on your question, and felt what you are feeling, then dealt the cards. Significator – The Lovers Upright Crossing – Queen of Pentacles Upright Above – Four of Pentacles Upright Below – Six of Cups Reversed Behind – Seven of Cups Reversed Ahead – The Magician Upright Advice – Nine of Cups Upright External Influences – Page of Pentacles Reversed Hopes/Fears – Three of Cups Upright Outcome – The Fool Upright
Only three out of the ten cards drawn for you are reversed, the rest are the right way up. This indicates much of the reading is straightforward, but that some areas indicate blocked energy and are focused more on you and your private self.
The Lovers is a fortuitous first card, for it indicates that right now, in this moment you feel you have a great connection to the new man in your life. You sense you have found your soul-mate and you are able to open your hearts with one another, and to be your true selves.
At its core the Lovers is telling you to be true to your own self, and that you have important decisions to make concerning this relationship and those decisions must come from the soul.
What appears to be standing in the way to having a perfect relationship with your new man, are all the other successful commitments you have. The Queen of Pentacles is the archetypal ‘working parent’. Whether or not you are actually a parent, you will have other ‘successes’ you wish to maintain. Possibly you have a gorgeous home and garden to maintain, or a business you have built up from the ground-up, or an important ‘career’ that has taken years of hard work to arrive at. Heck, you might even have some adorable children to dote on.
Basically, you have other important thing(s) you are nurturing, and difficulties with any of them could get in the way of your new relationship. You challenge will be to prioritise your ‘me and new boyfriend time’ with your other commitments.
The four of pentacles shows a man, alone and friendless, holding tightly onto his money. The card shows an extreme example of someone holding onto material possessions at the expense of other areas of their life. But it’s also sending out a message to you that amplifies the meaning of the Queen of Pentacles: that the current harmonious relationship you share with your new boyfriend is at some risk from your possessiveness to the other things in your life. You may feel you need to micro-manage and control all the separate areas of your life, and keep them apart. But to succeed with the relationship you might need to ‘let go’ a little more.
Underneath, within your inner world, you appear to be clinging to the past, perhaps dwelling on previous relationships (both pleasant and negative memories). Remember that though you can learn important messages from the past, there is no reason a current relationship needs follow the same path. And, if the current relationship is full of loving bonds... why weaken them comparing them to other times and other peoples? Instead of over analyzing, over indulging in past successes and failures... focus on the relationship as it is now.
In the past you were often overwhelmed by choices, possibly just in relationships, or even in your wider life. There was a constant battle between your intuition and what others thought you should choose. The array of choices before you was quite dazzling, but you knew that some of those choices, though they looked good, were fool’s gold. Many of those choices might have even been in relation to what partner to pick, with your inner voice telling you one thing, your logical mind another, and your friends and family giving you even more confusing guidance.
That is all in the past, in terms of relationships you have made your choice, now move you can move forward in trying to make it work.
The Magician card indicates in the near future you hold everything in your power to make this relationship what you wish of it. The relationship of your dreams will manifest. Establish clearly what you want from the relationship, work towards that goal, and it will come true. The coming weeks and months can be a wonderful time for you.
So far the cards have told us: that the present relationship is strong, that some balance must be made between the other important things in your life (that you cling to tightly) and this man, and that if you set your mind to it the near future can be wonderful (but ditch dwelling on the past to help ensure this).
Taking all this into account, some advice from the cards is to relax and enjoy, and be grateful for the relationship you have. There are a lot of positives in your current relationship, and you obviously want to hold onto them forever. Nothing lasts the same forever, even if the relationship with this new man eventually lasts your whole life... it will change. Even if it is a happy relationship during all that time, the happiness will change, will exhibit different flavors.
Make the most of the relationship as it is right now, and in the coming weeks. Go on, enjoy it!
One of the external events that is partly within your control, and that could affect the long term potential of the relationship is that your new partner might sometimes show signs of immaturity. They want you to spoil them and fall to laziness. This is more likely to be a problem if your existing business/finances are strong... and it’s important you do not reward this behaviour or allow it to become strong.
You hope your friends and family will help you out with this relationship. That they will help your new boyfriend become a part of your wider social network, make him feel comfortable and part of the ‘family’. Possibly you hope that they will help smooth over any difficulties that you fear will occur going forwards?
The Fool is numbered 0 in the pack, and represents unlimited potential. You are near the beginning of this relationship, and the Fool asks you to trust your heart and leap into the unknown.
The Fool reinforces the Magician in asking you to trust the universe and commit yourself to this relationship, trusting that whatever happens in the long term... it is your destiny to embrace it. Jump, and the universe will catch you. The outcome is not set in stone. There is a potential for your partner to become lazy and rely on you to spoil and ‘carry’ them, but only if you let them. At the moment you have a great connection with this guy, live in that moment, make time for him, enjoy it... but be a little careful.
3 Questions: Will this romance succeed for the long term? Certainly in the medium term, the signs are good, the longer term is unclear. Try to be grateful for what you have now.
If this romance fails, in what way is it likely to fail? You may allow your boyfriend to become too lazy and spoiled. You may spend too much time on your business or existing family. There is also the possibility that by refusing to relax and enjoy the relationship you take the joy away from it. All these points could connected (i.e. you spend too much time with your existing commitments, and even when you are with your new love you worry about your existing commitments too much. He, in turn, might seek material possessions to make up for the lack of affection/time/love).
What actions can I to take ensure the romance has more chance of success? Relax, make time for the man, and enjoy those good times you have. If your boyfriend begins to exhibit and signs of laziness and wanting to be spoiled, nip it in the bud early. Juggling too many tasks and not making time for your boyfriend is the largest risk... these are the ways you should tackle this risk:
Have a daily ‘to-do’ list that you can modify as the week progresses.
Clearly label each task as ‘urgent’, ‘important’ and ‘not so important’. Ensure you schedule enough time for your new boyfriend and label it as both ‘urgent’ and ‘important’
Schedule 1 hour a day for communications other than scheduled meetings. This can be emails, social media, etc. Try not to indulge in such communications at other times.
Delegate tasks to other people, if possible
Be realistic in the time you require for important tasks, and ensure you allocate enough ... especially the time you will require to keep your relationship with your boyfriend strong.
How I Perform a ‘Tarot Reading by Email’
Reviewing the Request: I read the question sent to me by the prospective client carefully. I ask myself whether it is one I might be able to help with. There are various questions I’ve clearly labelled as off-bounds (pregnancy medical, demonic etc) on this web-page; but, sometimes a client can ask something I am still ethically conflicted with but hadn’t thought to ban. When such a scenario arises, I will politely reply to the person that unfortunately this is a reading I would not be comfortable making. I might guide them to other non-psychic professionals.
Clients can sometimes ask questions that are ambiguous and I’m not sure exactly what situation they are in, or what answer they seek. I would then reply to the person asking for clarification from them.
It can help me if a client thinks carefully about what question(s) to ask. They should make the question clear and understandable, not rambling and convoluted. Don’t use acronyms or slang... use proper words with clean meanings. A specific question like ‘How is my romantic relationship with Gary likely to develop’ is more useful than ‘what for love?’ Some people try to jam in many more questions than they are allowed (I tend to reject those). If you give me your birth-date and a very brief bio – it helps.
Checking my Schedule Calendar: I only make a limited number of readings each week. Some weeks I recharge my psychic energies and take no readings, instead devoting my time entirely with my family. Therefore, when I receive a tarot reading email request, I check my calendar to be sure I will be able to fulfil it within 3 working days (mon-fri). If not I explain to the person that unfortunately I can’t read their tarot in the short term... but if they wish to send that (or another) question again in x days I will prioritize it.
Arranging payment: I purposefully don’t have a ‘pay now’ button on my web-page because I only accept payment once I have decided I will be comfortable working with that person and their question. When that is the case, I send them details of my paypal address, and wait for payment, and when that has arrived, I schedule the reading.
Preparation Time: I enter our spare room, place some relaxing or environmental (light rain/ gurgling stream) music on the computer. Read the question again, and then just look out at nature beyond the window. Perhaps the wind is rustling the leaves, or birds are flying in flocks overhead. Perhaps a cat is walking on a nearby wall or a flower has just come into bloom. In short, I consciously view the question, and then turn my conscious elsewhere to allow my unconscious some power.
Drawing the cards: When I feel at ease, I shuffle the tarot deck, and then draw ten cards, one at a time, and place them in the Celtic Cross configuration. At this point I am not thinking about hopes/fear or future or obstacles. I just have the question in my conscious and unconscious –and draw the cards.
Doing the reading: Once the cards are on the wooden table before me, I again read my ‘clients’ question, and start considering each of the cards that have appeared, based on their position in the Celtic Cards, based on their upright/reversed position, and to their inter-relationships. I type quickly on my computer, not worried about spellings or grammar. I am focused on getting the meanings that come to me, written down in some fashion.
Writing the reply to my client: After I have exhausted all the symbols images and meanings that come to me, I tidy up my writing. I make my reply legible and place it within a pre-formatted reply template. I then send my answer to my client.
